ONGOING WEBSHOP MONITORING

Merqivio Monitor

A webshop that is fine today can have new risks next month because of software updates, new content or products, platform requirements or changing European rules. Merqivio Monitor turns a one-off check into continuous oversight.

You do not have to follow EU law every day — Merqivio follows official European sources, including EUR-Lex. New publications and relevant changes are assessed for webshop impact. When a change affects a Merqivio check, we update the relevant scan criteria. Automated scanning remains a technical risk assessment and is not individual legal advice.

EU 30-day price rule for ecommerce: what changes when you discount?

EU LAW UPDATE · 21-08-2026

Our scanners follow current EU rules

Merqivio maintains its scan criteria as EU legislation changes. On 21 August 2026 the checks below were revalidated against the official texts.

PPWR: packaging and PFAS

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) applies from 12 August 2026. PFAS concentration limits now apply to food-contact packaging. The GPSR/Product Safety Scan therefore flags relevant food and food-contact products for packaging-compliance and traceability review. Merqivio does not automatically fail a page merely because a PFAS test result is not publicly displayed.

EUR-Lex · Regulation (EU) 2025/40

Digital Omnibus on AI: chatbot transparency was not delayed

Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 has been in force since 27 July 2026. Rules for certain high-risk AI systems were delayed until 2 December 2027 or 2 August 2028, but Article 50 for direct AI interaction has applied since 2 August 2026. AI Shopping Readiness therefore distinguishes demonstrated AI-chatbot signals from ordinary chatbots that require manual classification. Ordinary AI-generated product copy is not automatically failed.

EUR-Lex · Regulation (EU) 2026/1744
European Commission · Article 50 guidance

Legal guarantee notice: from 27 September 2026

Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 and Directive (EU) 2024/825 introduce harmonised legal-guarantee information from 27 September 2026. Merqivio has prepared this check but does not score it as a hard failure before that date. The GARAN label applies only where the conditions for a commercial durability guarantee are met.

EUR-Lex · Regulation (EU) 2025/1960

Why this matters

Failure to comply with applicable EU consumer, product-safety and market rules can lead to enforcement, corrective measures, sales restrictions and — depending on the rule and national enforcement — financial penalties. A Merqivio scan is an automated risk assessment, not legal advice.
