New EU legal-guarantee notice for online shops from 27 September 2026

Online traders selling goods to consumers must prominently display the harmonised EU notice on the legal guarantee of conformity as a general reminder on their website from 27 September 2026.

What is mandatory?

The notice informs consumers about their legal guarantee rights. For e-commerce the official colour version must be used.

Can the design be changed?

Use the official European Commission files. The elements of the harmonised notice should not be altered.

What about the GARAN label?

The GARAN label is not mandatory for every shop. It relates to a voluntary free commercial durability guarantee from the producer lasting more than two years and covering the whole product.
