Privacy and cookies at Merqivio.
This notice explains how Merqivio processes data for business scans, reports, plugins, subscriptions and contact.
Controller
Merqivio is the controller for personal data processed through this website and our services. Current business and contact details are published on the Business details page.
Data we process
Depending on the service, we process business name, contact name, email address, billing address, country, VAT ID, order and payment information, domain/licence data, correspondence and technical security data. For scans we process the submitted URL and publicly accessible information from the webshop being analysed.
Purposes and legal bases
We use data to perform agreements, manage payments and subscriptions, deliver plugins and licences, send reports, issue invoices and keep records, comply with VAT obligations, prevent misuse, secure systems and answer questions. Where consent is required, such as for optional tracking cookies, we ask first.
Payments, VAT and VIES
Payments are processed through Mollie. Merqivio does not receive full card or bank credentials. For EU B2B transactions, a submitted VAT ID may be validated through the official EU VIES service. Where available, we retain the result, validation time and VIES reference as evidence.
Service providers
Data may be processed by providers needed for hosting, email, payments, WordPress/WooCommerce services and official VAT validation, and disclosed where legally required. We do not sell personal data to advertisers.
Retention
Invoices and accounting records are retained for the legally required tax retention period. Other data is kept no longer than necessary for the service, security, support or possible disputes.
Cookies
Necessary functional cookies may be active by default. Optional analytics and marketing cookies remain off until consent is given. Preferences can be changed at any time via Cookie settings in the footer. The current Merqivio theme does not itself load Google Analytics, Meta, TikTok, Hotjar or Clarity tracking without consent.
Automated analysis
Merqivio scans use automated technical checks to identify attention points. They do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about individuals. A scan is not individual legal or tax advice.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability and, where applicable, object to processing or withdraw consent. Some data may have to be retained due to legal obligations.
Security and contact
Merqivio applies appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. Privacy requests: info@merqivio.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
