Why price history matters for the 30-day rule
An external scan can see what is published today. Without stored history, however, no scanner can reliably reconstruct every price actually charged in the past.
What you need to know
A snapshot is excellent for visible presentation issues but cannot by itself prove historic pricing. Price-history tables or ongoing monitoring can support that evidence.
Manual tracking becomes unrealistic across large catalogues.
Where online stores get it wrong
Launching a promotion without reliable history makes it hard to demonstrate where the reference price came from, especially with automated repricing.
What you can do in practice
Store price changes by SKU/variant with timestamps. Make history part of campaign approval and check which reference the frontend actually uses.
How Merqivio helps
Merqivio scans public product pages without passwords or admin access. A one-off scan checks visible price claims; historical verification requires stored price history.
